In South Carolina, nearly five million opioid prescriptions are filled each year – that’s more than one prescription for every person in the state.
As a result, the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services (DAODAS) has launched Just Plain Killers, a public education campaign that charges South Carolinians with taking a pledge to help fight opioid use and abuse in our state.
We ask elected officials, business leaders, medical professionals, school administrators and S.C. residents to make a public pledge of support to help end this deadly epidemic. The simple gesture of sharing one of the below pledges on your social media pages, will help raise awareness and lessen the stigma of the disease of opioid dependence. Opioids can kill a future, kill a career, kill a relationship and they can just plain kill you.
Help us combat the opioid epidemic in South Carolina – you might just save someone’s life.
Because pain killers can be Just Plain Killers.
